Can clouds form without water?

Answer 4: Clouds can form without water. Clouds of liquid water droplets exist on Earth and on Venus (at high enough altitude that the temperature is reasonable), but clouds containing water ice crystals are found on Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

The next thing we wondered was; do clouds hold water?

So, even though typical clouds do contain a lot of water, this water is spread out for miles in the form of tiny water droplets or crystals, which are so small that the effect of gravity on them is negligible. Thus, from our vantage on the ground, clouds seem to float in the sky. Answer originally posted May 31, 1999.

One of the next things we wanted the answer to was, are clouds liquid water?

Clouds are created when water vapor, an invisible gas, turns into liquid water droplets. These water droplets form on tiny particles, like dust, that are floating in the air. A camera on NASA’s Terra satellite captured this image of clouds over the Southern Indian Ocean.

There is no “on” the clouds. Clouds are made of very tiny water droplets suspended in the air. I suppose there are likely bacteria and other microscopic organisms that can be transported through the air by the same processes. Birds can fly through clouds, but have to land eventually.

Can there be wind without clouds?

Differential heating causes differential densities due to thermal expansion which causes airflow. Local and global differential heating causes the weather patterns on earth. Locally one the result is Convection.

What causes water to condense and become clouds?

Dust and other particles floating in the air provide surfaces for water vapor to turn into water drops or ice crystals. The tiny drops of water condense on the particles to form cloud droplets. Clouds are made up of a bunch of cloud droplets bundled together with raindrops.

You should be thinking “How does water turn into a cloud?”

Make a Cloud in a Bottle. Form the water vapor. Fill a jar with 2 inches (5 cm) of warm water and stir. Form smoke particles. Ask an adult to light a match, blow it out and quickly drop it into the jar., and cool it. Immediately place an ice-filled metal tray or hard-plastic frozen ice pack on top of the jar. Make it disappear, the real deal, and watch the cloud appear as well might be helpfull too.

One frequent answer is, what You Need: a glass jarblack papertapewarm waterice cubessmall metal bowl or a metal baking sheet (should completely cover the opening of the jar)a matcha flashlight (optional)an adult to help.

Mainly spring and autumn. Time of day. When the sun rises and warms mountainous areas and basins, the sea of clouds disappears. Location: mountainous areas and basins, weather, or there are a few conditions regarding the weather are a few more things to keep in mind.

First of all, the droplets of water are very very small, smaller than the head of a pin. Because they are so small they are easily kept up by the rising air. So the reason that clouds can hold water droplets is because the air in clouds is rising, and the rising air keeps pushing the water droplets up.

Can water move without the help of wind?

Water moves from oceans due to evaporation from sunlight. Without wind, it would stay above where it evaporated from, so from a practical standpoint, water must have wind to move to where it can be used. Without winds, the Earth would become desertified and most known life would perish.
